On Saturday, January 23, 2027, top-level international track and field returns to Dortmund’s Helmut-Körnig-Halle. There’s a special occasion to celebrate: The Sparkassen Indoor Meeting is taking place for the tenth time. This anniversary edition also holds Bronze status on the World Athletics Indoor Tour.

Since its relaunch in 2018, the Sparkassen Indoor Meeting has become a fixture on the international indoor athletics calendar. Year after year, successful athletes from around the world come to Dortmund to compete against Germany’s top athletes and promising young talents. For the tenth edition, organizers are once again expecting more than 150 participants from around 25 nations.

Most recently, in February 2026, more than 2,500 spectators witnessed a high-caliber meet featuring numerous top international performances and no fewer than eight new meet records. In World Athletics’ Competition Performance Ranking, the 2026 Sparkassen Indoor Meeting ranked tenth in Europe, thereby confirming its position among the leading European indoor meets.

“The tenth edition is a very special milestone for us. What began in 2018 with the return of international indoor track and field to Dortmund has become an integral part of Dortmund’s sports calendar and the World Athletics Indoor Tour,” says Yoshi Müller, head of organization for the Sparkassen Indoor Meeting. “We would like to celebrate this anniversary together with our partners, the many volunteers, the athletes, and our audience. Our goal is to once again offer spectators an unforgettable afternoon of track and field.”

Visitors to this anniversary edition can once again look forward to a diverse program featuring top international and national athletes. The main program will once again be complemented by competitions for young talents from Dortmund and the surrounding region, who will have the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of a large audience. Details on the events and the first names from the starting lineups will be announced in the coming months.

Since 2023, Sparkasse Dortmund has been supporting the event as its title sponsor and key partner. In this anniversary year, it continues its commitment to elite and youth sports in Dortmund.
